Dr. Robert Atkins, M.D. in his book, “Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution.” Describes fake food this way:

“You’ve all seen the aisles in the supermarket crammed with cookies and crackers, ice cream, frozen cakes and pies, soft drinks, and junk white breads so repugnant to the metabolism that many forms of rodents – wiser than us won’t even eat them except as a last resort.”

Dr. Atkins makes a stand against these fake foods. His book was on the New York Times bestseller list for 100 weeks. That is quite a testimony to his diet. I truly believe that his stand against junk food is the main reason for his diet’s wide success. I visited New Orleans, and the grocery stores stock “Dr. Atkin’s” food! Wow! I was really impressed. Dr. Atkins goes on to say,

“For thousands of years human beings were in luck-none of this food existed. Now we’re stuck with it. Because it’s incredibly profitable, it’s also widely distributed. But, there isn’t a person on this planet who should be eating it. . Sugar is metabolic poison!”

The most popular fake food is sugar! If thoughts of false teeth, being overweight and having diabetes can’t dissuade you, you are probably hooked on sugar. Dr. Atkins says it is poison to your metabolism. Metabolism is how you burn your food as energy. Sugar is also responsible for causing your immune system to become crippled. If you have an autoimmune disorder – cut out the sugar. If you look at food and gain weight, cut out the sugar! Refined sugar has had all of the nutrients stripped from it. Your body must rob nutrients from your body in order to process refined sugar.

Is there any wonder why we have so many diseases in the U.S. when the Department of Agriculture statistics show that the average American consumed 118 pounds of caloric sweeteners (principally refined sugar and high fructose corn syrup) in 1975 and 152 pounds in 1996?
Dr. Reuben states from his text, “The Save Your Life Diet”:

“The entire food-processing industry is based on the concept of selling you expensive low-fiber, high-sugar, and high-salt foods that don’t fill you up—so as soon as you finish one cupcake you’ll be right back in line for another one.”

So, processed food is any product containing refined sugar: that includes corn syrup, sucrose, dextrose, lactose, (lactose is in milk, more on milk later) corn sugar, or any of the other “o-s-e” aliases of refined sugar. Store bought cake mixes are mostly sugar. It is cheaper for a food manufacturer to add sugar to the cake mix and put in less flour. So, all prepared food in a box is fake food. No exceptions.

Fake sweeteners may not have calories, according to someone’s calculations, but fake sweeteners have another problem, they are linked with neurological diseases according to Dr. Blaylock in his text: “Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills.”

“More and more diseases of the nervous system are being linked to excitotoxin build up on the brain. For example disorders such as strokes, brain injury, hypoglycemic brain damage, seizures, migraine headaches, brain damage, and even AIDS dementia have been linked to excitotoxin damage”
